This may be helpful in regards to the clips:

I am aware of that post, it is in the link that I posted at the beginning of this DIY.
I tried that technique (removing the Blue clip out of the holder) but one of them broke during removal. It is not as easy as people show. This is why I think people should get the Dorman clips way ahead of the job! |
Oh I definitely am going to get the Dorman clips before doing the job, no doubt! Thanks for the part number!

I have a 2005 4.4i (and use the same filter Part # ending in 4016) so I assume I have the same locking clips on my lines.
I am gonna buy the Dorman 800-027 clips to be safe but when I have gone to a few different websites (Dorman and amazon) they tell me this part 800-027 will not fit an '05 4.4i. Am I missing something? |
Dorman won't tell you it fits bc it doesn't cross reference in their catalog but if the fuel filter is the same then they are using the same lines and clips and the Dorman part will work.

just out of idle curiousity, how much are the OEM clips? if availible!??
|
They Aren't avail from BMW just as fuel line whole parts

Rfaber. Buy a four pack of dorman 800-027 at a local auto store. I am glad to say I bought some the other day. Just in case
