You should have also checked inside the stiffener plate on the bottom of the car. It will hold oil and fluids and therefore hide oil leaks, I'll bet it's covered in oil, these things leak oil as you'll soon find out. Well good luck with it, and may god be with you my son...lol!!!:rofl:

I've had the whine twice in 182k miles, both times it was the waterpump bearing (110k (OE) and 175k (OEM, non-genuine BMW)).

Good luck and Godspeed! ;)

Post pics when you get some.

well its finally here :)

just been out to have a look at what I need to buy :)

by the looks, tools for the boot , EG , spare wheel brace, tool to lift the jack up , the spare wheel "lift thing" is broke , no warning triangle, silly things like that.
def needs the parcel shelf , but going to get in touch with previous owner first, , then let the spending commence :)

well, took the car over to my local bmw indy today to let him get the car on ramps, and after the initial laughter had finished he set to work , told me the following
no error codes and no faults stored on ecu, car structurally was solid, which is all good , then he got to the bad stuff .
castor bushes gone, rear drivers parking sensor broke, exhaust bracket ( end bit that hold onto the rubber hangers at the silencer bit) snapped,
some one has over filled the ps fluid, so its seeping from lid, and some how who ever changed the oil filter has snagged the oil filter O ring
apart from that little list he gives it 2 thumbs up :)
oh , and does any one recognise what type of phone goes into this little slot???

Cheers

Steve

An old phone goes into that slot.
