My servo motors reset by them selves. The correct way to remove them was to back off the 4mm screw on top of the motor, see Pelican article

That link takes one to an empty porche techarticles page. 4mm screw on top of the servo motor? I don't see any on top but on the sides. Mine is an N62 engine.

I found the correct link...
Pelican Technical Article - BMW E60 - N62 8 Cylinder Valvetronic Motor and Seal Replacement

I must say I'm amazed and surprised at the number of DIY articles specific to N62 engine in Pelican articles- valve covers, intake manifold, air cooled alternator, coolant pipe, water pump, thermostat, etc; and they're very detailed with lots of pictures! What a gold mine of info on the N62 engine DIY!!! They're not as common to come by as for the M62 engine.

Sorry , trying to post link with mobile phone is a bit of a pain

Yeah, the n62 isn't covered in our Bentley manual. Need to get the 5-series Bentley for n62 info (boo!)...

It's a bit of work, but worth it as it is the original BMW manuals

I am thinking the servo motors are not set correctly, any advise

I'm experiencing the same issues after doing the same repairs as you. How did you resolve the rough idle, missing and CEL? The codes I'm getting with GTI/INPA are P0021 and P0024 and random misfires.
Here's the thread I started for my issues:

I used the pelican method for removing and installing the valvetronic motors and let them initialize before starting the engine.

You didn't need to brake the seal & back off the 4mm screw. If you unbolt the 4 ISA screws, and the valvetronic does not come out, you just start turning the valvetronic to unscrew it. You have to mark the position of it before, so when re-installing, it will bottom out in the same relative postion. There is only 1 out of 2 valvetronics that has to be unscrewed when doing the VCG job - the other will have the internal shaft backed out already and will come off as soon as the ISA screws are loose.

Thanks for the heads up on all the N62 info @ Pelican. I'll be doing this (among other things) soon.

Hey guys/gals,

After a very expensive 2014 for the X, I'm looking to save a little dough by doing more work myself. I recently got the SES light and bad vibration while driving and decided I should change my spark plugs and coils. I'm at 93XXX miles so I figured I would get that done a little early and hopefully fix things. Yesterday while pulling the coils the driver's side were tough but eventually worked them out. Got to the first one on the passenger's side and thought, "Wow that came out much more easily!" My joy was short lived when I noticed all the oil. I have seen threads of folks changing their own valve cover gaskets, but I'm a little gun shy. As stated, Bentley appears to be helpless for this.

MS1207 is everything normal now? Is the Victor Reinz set the one to go with?

A little miffed that this wasn't noticed when I took her in last year to diagnose an oil leak. Had alternator bracket and other seals changed.

Thanks,

Scott
