So why did you even bring up the comment about no Bluetooth in the car before 2004. I don't have Bluetooth in my X5, but I am able to use an OBD II adapter and the app Torque Pro. Perhaps the car OBD II adapter is not working and powering up all those adapters that you bought. Do you have a scanner that can connect directly to the OBD II connector to verify if the connector is working? Carly was designed so that you would have to buy their proprietary cable in order to use their app.

I have carly cable for cars before 04 forcoding. But you can use carly adapter for cars before 04 if that elm crap doesn't work ;)
