The code is required in order for your cell/smart phone to pair with your X. Just a follow-up to "Q's" input. I had to remove the module, the label was on the back side.

Don't mean to resurrect this old thread of mine, but I have finally had the opportunity to play around with this. While I have managed to find the passcode, I can't seem to find the car when I try to pair it with my phone. I have tried it in all key positions and it never shows up on my phone. Any advice?
