Help!! X5 sputtering
Hello again i was on my way to a friends house the car was driving fine then it was feeling a bit shakey and then it was sputtering i pulled over it revs and idling fine so i continued on and it did the same thing again so i turned around and started to go home. as i was getting closer it was getting worse. i thought it would be either the maf or the coil pack i just replaced the maf so i know it wasnt that so i was thinking its a misfire and a bad coil pack but i checked the codes and all igot was p0313 which is misfire on low fuel. so now im stuck
any help would be awesome thanks gio the fix-- main fuel pump and fuel filter |
You're out of gas, either the tank is empty or your fuel pump is not pumping enough fuel under load. You can connect a gauge to the fuel rail and determine what type of pressure you have.

Check for any air leak. I replaced my MAF before and didn't tide one of the air hoses. After a couple of drives, it came off and had the 3 warning lights/no power problem while driving, one day.

fuel gauges can be wrong. Easiest thing to check is just fill it up and see if it takes half a tank or more...
after that, you have to identify the source of fuel starvation - I would add plugged up fuel filter to the list above. |

Easiest and cheapest way to determine this is to go and fill the truck up. If it take more than 10 gals to fill a half empty tank up to full you have a bad transfer pump. Keep the tank top off and you won't have the sputtering problem. |
