misfires and system too lean codes
On my new to me '07 X5 3.0 (62k miles) I've had the P0174 & P0171 codes codes for a little while. Today on our way home from LA after going over the grapevine, the car started idling rough. I pulled codes when I got home and now have P0302, 303, and 306 plus B2AAA.
I was going to start with looking for intake leaks for the initial codes, but now I'm wondering where to start. One other thing that I may get razzed for. We stopped in Castaic and got gas at the truck stop. I put in 87. Could that be the start of the problem...crappy gas? |

When the shop dug into it they found a massive valve gasket blowout that had been repaired with permatex. Once they cleaned it all up they found that the Valve cover was cracked as well, and one of the bolts had snapped. They should button it up tomorrow, and make sure none of the coils are causing the misfires.

Wait 'till you get a load of the cost of the plastic valve cover.
