As alluded to in the conversation above, an 'SIB' is NOT a 'warranty coverage'-

An SIB signifies instructions to correct a specific defect. While it can ALSO describe warranty coverage, often the car will need to be covered under a separate warranty for the fix to be paid for by BMW.

The MAF sensor, the partition, etc, etc, Just instructions from BMWAG to the service network of "hey, if you see this issue, here is how you fix it"
