Radiator replacement question

Another issue with engine cooling, after the pump it is now the turn of the radiator. I find radiators for x5 as low as $180 on eBay however I don't trust them and would rather get one that is more reliable brand like Behr which is available for about $280. My indy is asking for about $700, another one $900.

The question is how tuff of a DIY is it? Any link suggestions for DIY?

Thx

Recently changed out wife's X3(N52), original BMW radiator, cooling hoses, and 1 gal aftermarket coolant. In total it's about $650.

If you are doing the job yourself you should be able to wrap it up with OEM parts for about $500.00

Obviously you will need a new redactor and coolant.

Go to:
2008 BMW X Series (E53,E70,E71,E83) X5 3.0si Mounting parts F radiator

and get yourself a new radiator.
Go to a local BMW shop and get a coolant.

I haven't found a good DIY on radiator replacement. My biggest concern is reaching one of the connecting hose might be tuff and looks like the cost of getting it done through the indy, is pretty close to doing it myself, which is surprising as there is almost $300 worth of labor in there. I might just get it done at the Indy as I am pressed on time as well this week.

It is a super easy DIY I had mine done in under 2 hours. I will say you need to replace the hoses since you are probably on the original 5 hole radiator. I didn't replace the top hose that comes off the reservoir return and just cut and plugged the end. The most difficult thing it getting the damn cooling fan out and the lowest passenger side hose. Go to parts geek and get the Behr radiator and be careful you dont break the little flaps off the shroud as they are very fragile.
