BMW’s Run-Flat Tire Philosophy: ‘We Don’t Want to Mess With Something That’s Working’
|
God, that is a disturbing read...
|
When I looked a few months ago, Tire Rack had 19" Michelin RFT for the same price as normal tires. I have no love for RFT tires and switched to normal ones. My only regret is the mushy on center feel on the highway.

I also got rid of the RFT on my E90 and I went to PS2s. On center feel got soft on the E90 also. Ultimately grip went up but it felt like things were leaning more than with the RFTs. |
Most of BMW's goal is to keep the customer dependent on the service department. The good people on this forum are a minority as far as their personal involvement in their cars.

Too much toe in that alignment. You will get under 20k miles on a set of tires, my guess. You want 0.02" toe in on each wheel, period. Dont listen to the dealer. |

no run flats on M cars.
I have a plug kit as well as the oem slime. |

Where in gods name did you get the idea that toe = road feel? On a high performance suspension with low miles, all you need is a bit of toe to keep it centered. Tire model and inflation pressure drive 'road feel'. Any toe in over 0.02 just 'scrubs' rubber off faster. IMO |
