Haven't had a chance to get to look and see, but I've been told that the TPMS Antenna is at the rear of the X5 by the subframe. I've got a pre-facelift (2008 MY) and I'll try to remember to take a look for that plug. I'm having the same intermittent error with TPMS (external interference and just TPMS malfunction) that I would like to resolve too.

I just grabbed a few pics from my 3.0si. You're definitely missing a strut(?) in addition to whatever the plug is connecting to.

See if that's still working for you (aim against the garage door). http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=31_0796 Also, I have adaptive drive (in description of part) so maybe yours isn't really missing if you don't have adaptive drive. (And remind me never to fly through any deep puddles) |
What's behind the fender liner? Maybe it was replaced or removed at some point and someone thought the plug went on the other side of the liner and forgot to plug it in somewhere.

Thanks for the pictures my brotha! Looks like a leveling sensor wonder if that's what I'm missing

Getting back to your tpms malfunction, there should be a few threads related to that. I recall getting that error after about 6 years of ownership. The batteries in the sensor of each wheel just start to die so get a new set of compatible sensors in them. That's all I had to do.
How old is the car? |
