As it turns out.. the DME has slight water damage .. fortunately .. only a small diode was damaged.. so I changed for 3$ and cleaned the contacts.. and it working.. again:)) now the engine light is giving on long drives .. scanner shows catalyst below effiency.. but no engine Hick ups.. no engine malfunction error.. fuel trims are on par.. so now I will try the catalyst cleaner.. wish me luck.. just thought to give you guys an update..

Thanks for keeping us updated!

We took an e90 in for intermittent misfires with a SEL and the dealer is had it for 3 days for some reason. It is a cylinder 1 misfire and I thought cleaning the MAF would get rid of slight misfire under load above 3K RPMs, but it should still be covered under a SULEV warranty.

Turned out to be vanos solenoids, and ignition coil #2.

Lucky for u.. we don’t have such warranties in my country.. if we buy used.. everything is broken is on the buyer.. anyway.. give a long test test drive and keep us updated:))

I guess there's tradeoffs...Shop labor is around $200/hr at the dealership. I'm curios to know how much BMW or local auto shops charge you for something like an oil change.

For oil change.. not much.. here charge is on act.. not per hour.. I.e. my e70 oil change cost 13$/quart +20$ labour .. that’s it.. which come around 100$ in total.

But extra if you want them to use a torque wrench on the drain plug instead of a vicegrips.....
