Besides the foxwell is much easier to throw in a door card or glove box when travelling. Both tools have their place, but I think the Foxwell comes in handy more often than the full suite of BMW tools on a laptop.

Totally understand that notion. I have an old Carly for the in car stuff. In my e90, I had the MHD too. Now I just rely on the carly for my e90 for the "oh, a code popped up" or "hmmm, I'm towing 7k lbs, lets check the trans temp" and have the laptop for actually working on the vehicle.

I ordered the Foxwell NT530 the other day after researching options to support my small BMW fleet ('12 E70, '00 Z3, '99 E46).

I have been using fjoj's recommended OBDFusion with a VeePeak OBD2 Bluetooth scanner for the past few years. But I recently bought the '12 E70 and the prior owner told me he had a new battery installed by a friend, and wasn't sure if the battery was registered correctly.

I'm hoping to also learn more about the NT530 soon. I bought the two vehicle option as I have three Chryslers ('06 Durango, '05 Wrangler Unlimited, '02 Jeep Grand Cherokee) in the family that I support.
