Ya think?

Based on what he posted, that is your diagnosis?!? I mean great you just joined, kudos for your 4 posts.... gotta start somewhere.

Ive read a few hundred thousand post on the E70. AC compressor failures are relatively rare.

“I’ll just replace them all”?!?

Diagnose the problem first....

This post tells us all we need to know. You don’t understand how the system works. Does your AC have a clutch or is it variable displacement? Using a BMW capable code reader are there any codes related to climate control? Why do you think putting 12v to a switch that is designed to send a signal by completing a path to ground is a good idea?

It’s not a ‘74 Matador.

To bypass the switch? And yes it has a clutch on it. Correct I don’t know the system on a new car to me, I’ve read the link that was posted and I don’t have a scan tool capable of telling me faults that aren’t throwing a cel.

welp. Yo dont want to discover that something was a PWM signal and not a 12VDC ..... PWM is pulse width modulated.

Consider a decent scanner, or load ISTA on a laptop. $150 for a scanner, might pay for itself right quick.

Yeah I’m looking into scanners now, I guess my other cars weren’t quite this technical before.
