Information on ordering a 2007 X5
I emailed my sales person at my local BMW dealership and told him that I want my new X5 to be in his first allocation of cars. He said that he would have to do some 'homework' and would get back to me.
I added that I want to accept delivery at Spartanburg and asked if there was an additional charge for that. He replied the next day and told me that I would be able to get my car one week later if I pick it up at the factory and that I would be able to take delivery at the beginning of October. No extra charge for Spartanburg delivery. I am going to call him tomorrow to formally set up my order. No option lists yet. Just want to get my name first on the list! Anyone else out there who has ordered an E70? My wife took over my X5 and she needs the third row of seating for car pooling. Thats all I need to know to give me the green light to order the car I have been waiting for for a long time.-How could I be more excited about the new X5 than when I ordered my 911 in January?? So, I should have one of the first X5s off the line. Hope the quality is ok on one of the first new E70s?: : Any comments? Thanks. |
I haven't ordered yet, but I've been wondering what kind of price increase to expect. Is it reasonable to think the new E70 will be similarly priced to a equally optioned E60?

Brave man, ordering one of the first E70s. I would make sure that 3rd row seat will work for you, as I expect it to be very occasional in nature, and therefore a significant pain for carpooling due to the access. You may want to wait for a V5 minivan/people-carrier.
Pricing is anyone's guess at this point, but I do expect it to be up from the E53, as BMW priced the X3 quite close to the E53. They can therefore take the E70 up in price somewhat. Given the new features, E60-level pricing is possible. That is a significant jump over the E53 (based on the last time I priced an E60). |
You're lucky. I ordered mine 3 weeks ago and was 25th on my dealers waiting list!!!

my dealer said the same but i told him how come i order a car without knowing how its going to be from out side and inside..... how much its going to cost ?!!

The dealer emailed me today to let me know that he has no official orders yet. I was surprised. He said that because he does not know how many he will be allocated the discount will be between $500 & $1,000.
I will shoot for the $1,000 and try to order it for that deal tomorrow. See you at spartanburg in October! I have wanted to do a factory delivery of a BMW for a long time. |
I officially ordered our 2007 X5 last night. I gave our dealer a $500 deposit.
I am the first order that they have taken for the new X5. Since I have been waiting for this new model for so long it is exciting to be the first in line. My kids are excited to be going to Spartanburg with me. The dealer seemed a little surprised that no other salespeople have written any other orders todate. He said that he has seen some interest but those interested want to see the actual car and drive it first. I sure hope that I like it because i will be paying for it at the dealer before ever seeing my car or any other 2007 X5 because mine will be the first to the dealer. He said it will definately have the 3rd seat. That is the #1 reason we are selling our 2002 X5 and getting the new one. The '02 is awesome even with 60,000 miles on it. The salesman has no additional info on the E70. If you know anyone looking for a clean 2002 X5 3.0 sport-send them to me! Thanks. |

hey whalerdude are you really taking delivery of your x5 in october? how come? is that possible? the 2007 x5 arrive at dealerships in late november and i thought no one could have the new x5 before that date????
|
My dealer had earlier told me that I would have the car by mid October,NOW there is a DELAY in production and yesterday he told me that if I choose a color that will be included in the initial production that I would have it by end of Nov. Most likely Late Oct-Early Nov.
I am still the #1 order at Knauz BMW in Lake Bluff,IL. |
