Debating on X5 now or later...HELP

I want to know your thoughts if i should buy the 2007 X5 3.0si now or later. The reason being is that the 2008 may come out with the 335i twin turbo motor or should i buy now and wait for ESSTuning to get the supercharger? I'm aiming towards getting it now and wait for ESSTuning. Lmk what you think. Thanks in advanced.

I'm not much for aftermarket stuff - so I'd wait until the 3.5TT becomes vailable in the X5. Or, you could just get a 4.8L. By staying with a stock choice you get the factory warranty and trouble free (if not - they fix it and can't say it' some aftermarket problem). The 3.5 would be nice, but who knows when it's coming. I'm considering a 4.8, but have to wait for the dealer to get one for me to try.

:iagree: Well said. I would expect the 3.5 to be out in 2007.

Well look at it this way...BMW had the 325/330(motors)..then it went 328/335(replacement motors). And didn't the 1st gen X5's have the 3.0 motor as the 330? I'm thinking that BMW will change the motor from the curent 3.0 motor to the 335 motor. BMW has a way of changing motors after the current models are out. Just my 2cents.

DAmn. if the X5 gets a twin turbo upgrade... I think i'd trade mine in instantly. Have you seen what people have gotten out of those engines?!

I'd wait. They almost have to come out with the TT in '08 (maybe spring of '07). In any case, I would avoid the SC. I've talked to several people who have them on other cars and they have issues (CEL's, etc).

I'll wait. Two years down the road there will be more options, and we'll see how the car performs.

If you're going to lease, I would say to try and wait a few months, the rates aren't great right now....Haven't heard anything about the bigger engine, your logic is certainly valid, but it's hard to say if it could happen by June '07 or even fall of '07...BMW usually keeps that pretty quiet till a month or 2 before they realease it since they don't want to hurt exsisting inventories........
