I took delivery of a 4.8 with sport and 20's, black saph w black interior. I will post some pictures this weekend. SAV is fast and handles better than all SUV's out there and better than most sedans. The sport package has 2 modes, reg and sport, regular is a little softer and the ride with the 20's is not so harsh. I previously owned an 03 x5 4.4 and the 07 exceeds all expectations i have had after a flawless 3 years with my 03. Highly recommend this SAV. Do not buy this vehicle if you are looking for the 3rd row seat. It is small and can only accomodate small children. Even so, its like sitting in a whole as you cannot see past the second row seating. It's good for car pooling, only for short distances. I have never owned a vehicle with Idrive and i can tell you that it is wonderful. If you take the time to read the manual it is easy to use and is configurable to your needs. Bluetooth and NAv is also excellent. The Nevada leather is also top notch and they did a great job on the interior, 2nd row is huge and seats recline. I do recommend the light poplar wood with the dark interior as the dark wood is to monotone.

So far no problems(500 miles), the engine and tranny are quick, smooth, and shift at the times you would expect with out any hiccups. The sport mode for the tranny revs out gears well, however expect to get about 10 mpg on the streets in this aggressive mode. Highway mpg is about 20 at 65 mph on a flat surface. I have not used the IPOD interface yet as i am enjoying the satellite radio and have not had a need.

The 20" wheels give the vehicle a much differant look. I believe they extended the rear wheel flares(plastic trim) with the 20's. The wheels are so Fat i dont think i can put this in a car wash (problem). I will let you know as i have only handwashed it to date, but it's getting colder in the northeast as we speak.

Please post any questions and i will get you guys some photos in the next day, lots of holiday stuff going on!

FatX5 12-27-2006 07:18 PM

Sorry for the delay - I took some pix over the weekend and tried to post them on Monday. File was too big to post, exceeded KB limit. Anyone have suggestions?

By the way someone was looking for the tire specs, it's attached here too!

Denalio 12-27-2006 10:24 PM

Thanks FatX5. Dunlops..they look great. How is the ride? Are you keeping them on for winter? Pics look great. Enjoy.

JayX5 12-27-2006 10:25 PM

Thanks for the pics. The 20s are nice.

streetsoffire 12-27-2006 10:42 PM

I thought the E70 was bigger? Still, toddlers in the rear can put their Air Jordans on the front seats?

streetsoffire 12-27-2006 10:44 PM

FatX5: By the by; she is a smokeshow.......

I think the 7 extra inches are in the way back and allow for
the leprechaun seating in third row. The rear seat pitch may
have gained an inch or two, but it's no limo in in the 53 or, 70.

Nice looking ride, though in a MadMax sorta look.

khooger 12-27-2006 10:54 PM

nice ride....looks like someone put their shoes on your seat mannn....

FatX5 12-27-2006 11:01 PM

Well my kids made the Thread! :nanana:

FYI - Sport package has 2 settings for the suspension, comfort and sport. Comfort sides softer than e53 with sport to give you an idea.
Sport Mode stiffens the ride quite a bit.

I will keep the Dunlops this winter and see how they do.

chor 12-28-2006 02:39 PM

Very Excited...Picking up my E70 sometimes today. :)
BTW, this will be my first Beemer so can't wait

EJCX5 12-28-2006 02:46 PM

Looking forward to seeing your new "baby":2thumbs:

chor 12-28-2006 02:57 PM

EJC,

As I mentioned before, I have pretty much the same car as you have but with a black interior and I couldn't get one with the Sport pkg...Also, I have the Invision DVD system which I will be installing it first or second week of January. I hated the factory entertainment system, afterall cost was the same. :-)

Wagner 12-28-2006 02:59 PM

Aren't there like 2 E70 owners at this point :)

LeMansX5 12-28-2006 03:04 PM

Nice color combo, FatX5.

You may be the first to have Invision system in E70. Post pics when you get it.

chor 12-28-2006 03:10 PM

Leman,

That kind of worries me, FIRST ONE...Hopefully the installers knows what they are doing but then again I heard they are the best. They do put the acces. for the stealers like Benz, Audi, Acura and Porsche

chor 12-29-2006 11:11 AM

woh baby....I picked up my 4.8i yesterday and drove about 90 miles from the dealer to home. It does drive nice. Will take some pictures later today and post it.

Space Gray/Black interior...Looks good :)
Premium Pkg
Tech. Pkg.
Premium Sound
Cold weather Pkg.
Heated rear seats
Third row seats
Running Board
Sat. Radio

I have a feeling, this sucker is going to give only 15-18 mpg..all the time:mad:
