I hope to have an answer back today on fitment. Another concern is the new extended hump rims. If you use the factory rim for snows the only option may be runflats because of the design....?

"In the case of slow pressure loss, i.e. representative of approximately 80% of all tire failure cases, the remaining range as from the RPA warning is approximately 2000 km. ABS, ASC and DSC remain fully operational even in the event of complete tire pressure loss

When driving with a run flat tire with no pressure, the optionally available adaptive drive system automatically distributes the vehicle weight over the remaining wheels so as to relieve the load on the depressurized tire with the aim of achieving the highest possible range for continued operation."

So are we going to be stuck with only one option for winter and replacement tires if we have the Adaptive Drive option? If the DSC is not installed what will happen? Will the adaptive drive function properly? Is there any way to turn the RDC off?

As per my info some E53 wheels fit the E70, but you need TPMS sensors as Denalio mentioned. Tirerack sells TPMS sensor for $160 for the set. E53 monitors the TPMS as per what Fastbuck mentioned. If you buy wheel and tires at Tirerack.com you will notice that they ask you to buy TPMS sensors and valve for 2007 X5 but not for 2006 X5.

I got an answer back from the dealer today. They tried the style 74 18" wheel from the e53 on the e70, and no it does not fit. The hubs are a different size. Are we now stuck with one option for now?:thumbdown

If the holes for the hubs on the old wheels are smaller, it may be possible to have them enlarged.
