In the tool kit by the spare tire, what is the orange "L" shaped thing and also what is the small metal piece between the wrenches?

The orange plastic handle is used to release the electronic park brake in the case of an electrical failure (in the luggage compartment, left side) and it is also used to release the transmission park lock under the same circumstances (for that purpose it is inserted under the cup holder next to the transmission selector lever).

Not sure which piece you are referring to between the wrenches, as I see only one wrench.

The next item to the left is the tow eye, used to winch the vehicle on to a flatdeck, or to flat-tow the E70 with a rope. It is also for pulling the vehicle back onto the road, but from my experience with other models, that is when they usually bend or break off.

The next small item to the left appears to be a key for wheel locks, but I am not sure.

The Z-shaped thin wire tool below them all is an Allen wrench, designed to serve as a manual crank handle for closing the sunroof after an electrical failure.

Seems like there are lots of work-arounds in the event of electrical failure. It will be more important than ever for owners to read the manual, IMO.

Thanks for the description. The other part I am talking about is what you think might be the key for the wheel locks. If that is the case, did your car come standard with it? (If so, wow)

Came with wheel locks

no charge.

The OP got wheel locks, according to the above post. I don't have an E70, but all of my current fleet (325xi, X5 E53, Z4) came with OEM wheel locks. BMW didn't include them on my cars, but my dealer adds them to every car they sell, along with full carpet floor mats, at no charge.

I'm moving to Canada. I'm lucky if I get the keys included from my dealer.
