I just ordered a 3.0 with the premium package and the sport package with the understanding that I will get the sport seats. That is what the salesman told me, is he uninformed?

No, he is correct. In the US, Premium pack DOES NOT include multi-contour seats. It is a seperate option.

So do we know definitively if this will impact Canada only or the US market as well? I checked with my dealer and while they saw teh bulletins about the tailgate delay until the fall, the manual side shade delay, the HD Radio availability as of April, etc. he didn't see anything about a discontinuation of the comfort (what I take is officially called multi-contour seats by BMW).

it's probably the same issue...the supplier is in financial straits...so it wouldn't make sense to discontinue temporarily them in the US...unless all the comfort seats are reserved to other countries...which won't make sense :thumbup:

I called the BMW USA customer service line and was told they have no knowledge of any problems with Multi-Contour seat availability, I would think they would know.

FWIW dealer here in the UK says Comfort seats are available, then again he told me that all X5 comes standard with the iPod kit, clearly the Aux input is no full iPod :confused:

They do know, but the common "we have no information at the time" rule was placed I guess...:thumbup:
