Comfort Access ...Glitch?

The Comfort Access on my new 4.8 seems a bit quirky. Sometimes it seems to work intermitently. When I try to open the door sometimes it does not work. I pull my FOB out of my pocket and hold it and will work or sometimes jiggle it a little to get it to work. Doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen quite frequently. I have also experienced a message on the NAv screen that says "remote contol not in the vehicle or may be malfunctioning". Anyone experience the same thing? What's going on? $1000.00 option !!:confused:Could my batteries need replacing after just 1 week? bad FOB?

have you charged it in the key slot yet?

The CA fob does not charge in the slot. The battery is replaceable. I would call the dealer, mine works perfectly.

try your other key and you will know if its your key or your car

I've been so disappointed with my Corvette comfort access system that I will never order it again. The hassle of trying to accesss any vehiche once the system fails overcomes the convience. $1000 for this perdiciment opportunity? I don't think so...

I got the same message the first week with the X along with a white triangle in the nav display. The problem went away the next day and has been perfect since.

Mine works fine!

If you can recreate the problem... Tell the dealer and see if they can replace the remote. BTW... does the other remote work OK?

Did you have your FOB near your telephone ? My CLK500 "keyless Go" same as "Comfort Access" as BMW has the same problem if my phone and the FOB was closed by and no problem if they are further apart.
How do you enjoy your new ride and what is your Winter setup. I will pick mine up on next Tuesday.
Did you install the I-Pod interface ? iF YES, what is your impression ?

:clueless: ;)
Here is BMW's description:

"Comfort Access

Comfort Access system offers an even greater degree of convenience: keyless access to your car. Simply carrying the remote key in a pocket allows you to unlock the doors by touching the door handle. You can also turn the engine on or off by pressing the Start/Stop button* without first inserting the remote key."
