I get delays periodically maybe 2-3 times a week. it only happens on cold starts so maybe there's a 'booting up' issue b/c you can't really do anything until it finishes doing its thing usually about 10 seconds later.

Sometimes it is super fast and sometimes it does take some time. I have noticed that it has gotten better after a software update from when I had my MOST iPod adapter installed in my E90.

I don't have any problen w/ X5 iDrive
 

I just got my X5 last friday..I have no problem w/ iDrive...It works fine for me. I don't have to wait for 3 - 5 secs...
