Goodmorning to u all.
I have ordered my X5 on 17 Feb and the dealer here in Athens, Greece told me that the car will be delivered latest by early June. My order is 3.0si/Space gray/ Tech Package/active steering/standard 18înch wheels/sand beige nappa/ panoramic m/roof. As u can see, I didnt opt for the Adaptive Drive (4,000 euro) and reading all these reports, Im really beginning to loose my sleep on it. From those who had the luck/pleasure to drive both, is it really much of a significant difference or is it just the cherry in the cake? My thought is that if it was an issue on safety in driving, BMW would have made it a standard? Your opinions pls.

Owise, counting the dates to delivery like the soldiers at war....

I had the fortune to test drive 2 X5s, one with and without Adaptive Drive. My CA let me take each one for the day, so I had several hours with each on various road conditions, and to compare, I drove on the same roads with each X.

Based on my test drives, I am ordering my X with AD. It gives you the best of both: better handling than without AD, PLUS more comfortable ride on rough roads at the same time. With AD, you do not have to compromise between comfort and sport. You have your cake and you can eat it too.

Also, one X had multi-contour comfort seats, and the other had sport seats. I HIGHLY recommend the multi-contour seats!!

Although I have never driven one w/o adaptive drive, I can say I agree w/ SpeedR...the ride is amazing. I have the Sport Package which includes the Adaptive Drive option and love it!
