Guess so.. I can't knowingly not maintain a vehicle. Actually, I won't even abuse loaners/rentals. In end, of course it's your choice. I only post this information in the inherent interest of doing so.

I have 1550 miles, and today I floored it for the first time. I was going about 35 mph, and I shifted into sport and held the pedal until I was at 80, at which point I went heavy on the brakes until I got to 60. I won't be doing it again anytime soon. Big fuel waster.

funny...looks like we live in parallel universes. I did the exact same today, thats when my mpg dropped down to 15

The cayenne was by no means a bad suv, but IMHO the X5 (e70) is superior in every way, especially the transmission and engine. The fact that BMW picks up the tab is an advantage as well.

The facelift Cayenne S has a power jump and power-wise is a bit higher than the E70 4.8i. It also has the electronically controlled air suspension (not sure if it is an option or std equipment) but not sure if it is similar to the adaptive drive. I think both the Cayenne S and 4.8i are pretty close in weight however from 0-60 the 4.8i seems to be a bit quicker on paper. Btw, if the 4.8i is a big drinker, then could the "is" be even worst with the turbo charger?

whyd you do dat

trueX5er 03-18-2007 10:38 PM

Why? So I could merge onto the highway. And then I went into speeds that I have never been into before. Just wanted to fully utilize the engine's power at least once during the first 2000 miles. Thats why. :)

vinuneuro 03-18-2007 10:41 PM

You should do that many times at this stage of the engine's life. Plus, it prevents carbon buildup doing it once in a while and is fun.
