i don't see what the fuss is about, as soon as u drive the car off the lot, u lose at least 10% of it's value. Keep in mind demo's are selling for 3k off msrp, and it's still consider *new*(new car can proberly be 2k off), your quote isn't that bad after all, u save the tax, if u sell privatly u need to sell at 60k to match the dealer's quote
Just get the window tinted at N-motion, right next to brian jessel

:iagree:

Do you really expect the dealer to take it back for what you paid for it? They are in business, and if you want them to buy your car they will calculate the trade value from retail for a used vehicle, less the profit they need to make to stay in business, less the cost of cleaning it up. The price you are quoted sounds fine. The real issue is that you made a mistake buying the car, apparently.

The cargo space in the X3 was significantly bigger than the X5, but only up until 2007. They lengthened the new E70 this year and increased cargo space to try to distance it a bit from the X3. If you bought an '07 X3 thinking it would be larger inside than the '07 X5, then you missed it by a year.

 No dog in this fight...I have an '01 that regularly hauls 4 large
geezers, 4 sets of clubs and stuff.

My comment was to the OP with his tale of woe; he mentioned he
wished he had an X5 for more room for his golf stuff. My point was
the X3 supposedly has a touch more room than the X5. The new,
larger, heavier E70 may have more than X3, but it's moot.

I was suggesting his unusual rationale was misplaced.

Oh, and selling privately is out of question since I'll save more money by just trading-in with that depreciation because of the crazy tax rate in BC.

Why can't you sell it privately with the condition that the purchaser buys it from the dealer you buy your new X5 from. It is done all the time. When you negotiate your new purchase you tell the salesman that you have your car presold but you require it to be taken in as a trade to save you the tax and then to be sold to the new owner. Most sales people will do this to make the new sale. You just have to make arrangements with the new purchaser to be available at the time of your new purchase.
