the way you feel when driving it....it is pure pleasure.
Mine is over a year old and over 20k miles and I still get that feel.

Glad to see this thread. The "most annoying thing" thread was sending the wrong impression to potential buyers, IMHO. They need to know the good things also. (like the guy who was going to buy a MDX because of the x5 backup camera...like there aren't many other reasons to buy an X5 instead.)

LIKES: big and little
Design
Comfort seats-best seats ever
Smooth Ride
Handling on curves
iDrive
iPod connection
Premium sound
Heads Up Display
Voice commands: call home or name, 560 AM, auxillary, cd track 1, etc. (for voice commands remember to wait for beep or it can't understand you)
Cool daytime running lights
Lighted handles
Automatically goes into PARK when you turn off engine
Trunk storage
Start/Stop button
Seems to have an extra gear that holds some going down a hill
Backup camera (yes, could be better at night)
Folding side mirrors
Clamshell center compartment
Comfy rear seats
More comfortable head rests than previous models
Interior finish quality

This is the best bimmer we've ever owned.

Two little features I have recently discovered:

1. If you push the cruise control stalk beyond the resistance you discover that it is a two-stage switch. If you push to the second level it increases mph to the next increment of 5. (i.e. 40 to 45, 47 to 50, etc...)

2. On the indicator stalks if you are indicating right (or left) and you want to switch them off then pushing in the same direction cancels them (this avoids the left - right - left problem that you can sometimes get).

I picked these up on an E60 forum and was pleased to find that they applied to the E70 too.
