Any 08 owners get delivery confirmation?

My vehicle was released from the VPC last Weds and is awaiting transport but dealer said they are holding 08's until the remaining 07's are shipped out?

Any thoughts?

When I called the automated tracking system it said that my vehicle was released to a carrier and is awaiting transport to the port of exit.

Not sure what that means? Maybe that it is on a truck, but hasn't left SC yet?

Once it is on a truck, it shouldn't be a long time, because I am only one state over from the factory.

Can you tell me the number for the automated tracking system? I'd like to check it out!

Thanks

BMWNA #800-831-1117 - just follow the prompts or speak to a rep.

You will need your production or vin number

Thanks, it says vehicle has been transfered to port of exit, any idea what that means? Is it done? that would be awesome!:bmw:

when your vehicle states its in transist, getting ready for delivery or whatever its called, it takes about 4 to 8 weeks depending on its stops to reach your dealership. it can sit about a week to two before it gets delivered depending on how many vehicles are ahead of you, then once it reaches its destination, it could sit another week or so to be unloaded. once its at your dealership it takes about 24 to 48 hours for it to be ready.
All in all it should take 2 months for the whole process, sometimes less if you get lucky or if your sales rep is on it.

:wow:

It takes 2 months to get the car in the USA ? It takes 4 weeks to get it to Germany and the dealer will hand it over .

Quite amazing thing, longer way but faster delivery....

Do you know if the information via phone is updated more often or is more specific than the information on-line via the Owners Circle section of the BMW web site?

FirstBMW 10-10-2007 01:35 PM

I am still a newbe, but here is what have figured out so far:

Website - just ok, not updated very often and only in large buckets
800 number - better, with some more detail
BMWNA Rep - about the same as the 800 number
Dealer Rep - they seem to know the most

That said, my car was schedule for production week 41, which is this week. The rep called me today to tell me its on a truck and on its way here, no complaints from me!
