Which Gasoline Do You Use?

For the 3.0, do you have to have premium? Anybody using the middle grade or regular? :confused:We have a Lexus IS 250 which calls for premium but have been using the middle grade with no issues.

What are your thoughts...

thanks

I use premium. Middle grade probably won't hurt it, but it certainly won't make it better. I would use premium for optimum overall performance.

We have 93 on the east coast for Premium, so I put half 89 and half 93 in and net out the 91, usually at a cost of about $2.55-2.60 per gallon lately.

I've alternated between 93 and 87 octane, butt dyno can't tell the difference and trip computer reports no change in mpg. So now it's 87 all the time.

we use octane 98 here in the middle east .. the most expensive one .. costs about AED 6.75 a gallon which is around $24 a gallon lol

Ah, 6.75 AED is about 1.84 USD...I'd love those prices :) Right now I would pay 10.75 AED for fuel :(

I did the math on the difference out of pocket over the course of a year, since I've had my regular (87 octane) SUV that gets ~14mpg for the last 13 years.

If I were to switch to a premium (91 octane) SUV that gets 15-17mpg around town like the E70, I'd be paying US$150-$200 more per year. It's nothing... especially after spending so much on the car itself.

$44 regular weekly vs. $47.2 premium weekly (w/ slightly better mileage) = $166/year difference.

Unless you're coming from a Honda Civic instead of another SUV. ;)

We have 91 and 95 octane no 80's
__________________________________________________ ________

The cost for the 91 ( 1L=0.40 SAR) the E70 about 85L so It's going to cost 34 SAR which is $9.06
(85X0.40)=34 SAR
$1=3.75 SAR
(34/3.75)= $9.06
__________________________________________________ ________

And the 95 (which I always use) cost 0.60 SAR per 1L
(85X0.60)= 51 SAR
$1=3.75 SAR
(51/3.75)= $13.6
