Looks like we are averaging 13 mpg- kinda what I figured. Almost all local driving.

I'm really sick of people assuming that I don't care about gas milage because I paid 90,000 for the truck. well news flash to those who assume, I DO CARE and yes i drive a 4.8i.

After 8,000km of driving mine sits on 17.8l/100km which I think is quite reasonable.... ( my previous car - a 4.0l turbo 6, which I drove like I stole it, managed 18l/100km )

At the end of the day, if you can afford the car, then you can afford the fuel to go in it...... I don't even look at the cost anymore..... just fill / pay/ & go.....

y5choi,
Do not pay attention to these people. It doesn't matter what they think. :-)
They are probably kids who get offended by a simple math...:-)

You are right.. I get 11.0l/100km with a 3.0 diesel, I do not have the V8 growl.. I can afford the V8 petrol just chose not to do so...

It amazes me that this topic is an issue on this forum.... we are not buying 500kg econobox cars here... we are buying LARGE VEHICLES..... they WILL use MORE FUEL....

To those who think this is a problem...... BUILD A BRIDGE... and......

Me ? I'm too busy enjoying the bmw experience......

this does not amaze me at all and is perhaps the most relevant topic to discuss here. why shouldn't we demand better fuel consumption from a vehicle we appreciate.... especially since they offer it overseas!! BMW can do better and they know it... hybrids are around the corner, but they should have been here years ago. They need to know we enjoy these cars but, i for one, am most bothered and detered from buying it because of the fuel consumption.

There is nothing wrong with discussing this topic and we should be proud that we care enough to demand better.
