There is definitely something wrong with it. Have it checked at the dealer.
Good luck.

i'm going to try again one more time tonight just to make sure i'm following the right steps..

on the owner's manual it says it automatically activates when shifting to reverse...and automatically deactivates when driving off....

but it also says before shifting to Reverse...you can manually activate and deactivate by pushing the PDC button...

that's a big difference from manually activating/deactivating when in Reverse..(which is controlled automatically)

i believe you can't manually turn it off by hitting the button once it has been activated automatically via shifting to R

anyone really tried this??? (allowing it to activate automatically while shifting to R then turning it off manually by pressing the PDC button?)

don't think it's possible... and if so, then my buttons are definitely broken..

was always possible on my 2002... i hope it's still possible on the 2008...

Yes, that is possible.

I have an '08...those beeps were annoying the crap out of me too. Pressing the PDC button shuts it off...I think your button isn't working!

My November build 2008 turns off when I press the PDC button (including after reverse.) So if yours' does not I would have the dealer check. The constant beep can be annoying!

does your DTC button come on and off you hit it while parked???

I also can't do this....

or do you have to be driving in order to engage DTC???

Yes, whilst driving and parked.

I just press my PDC button (just quick push and let go) and the light goes off and no more noise! :) my DTC takes a bit longer to catch my command (say,,good 1 or 2 seconds pushed in) but they both work fine.
