i can only shut off the camera via idrive...

plus i noticed i can't ligth up the DTC button either....do i have to be moving to enable the dynamic traction control feature??

maybe my buttons are broken....

again, the PDC light is on but i can't turn it off by pressing it... not sure if there are other steps that need to be taken...

I can turn off the beeping by pressing the PDC button. I tried the DTC button while parked, it does not light but shows activated on the bottom of the I-drive screen.

I agree with other posters. Pressing the PDC always works with mine. I guess it would really be NICE though, to have the beeping stop when I put it in park! Also, I have never figured out a way (though I have tried!) to reduce the volume of the PDC beep.

well...came home from work and tried it again...

started the car...left it in park...hit the PDC button and no LED light comes on...

put it in reverse...PDC light comes on...backup a little...put it in park..(beep still going) and hit the PDC button to try to turn it off....and nothing!!

hit the DTC button while i was at it.... and nothing...

looks like a trip to the dealer!!

Am i missing something?? is there something on the idrive config that i need to look at?? maybe some sort of setting??

No, these should work out of the box and they are not configureable.

The switch row is connected with a ribbon cable that goes around the side of the radio and connects to another electronic module. I would suspect that this cable was damaged when they built your SAV.

could be... the PDC button lights up when i hit Reverse.... and only comes off when I drive off....(as it should when)

can't figure out why I can't manually shut it off...

anyway, i'm taking her back to the dealer for repair when i have time...

so far the vehicle is great and no other problems....(tested everything else!)

Ok the PDC should shut off/turn on when you push the PDC button. That is how it works and if it does not then it is broken. I am not sure if I was the only one who's Aug deliver car had but the PDC w/ backup camera would not show a split screen with camera on 2/3 and the PDC image(front back sensors) on the other 1/3. I had them do an update for complaints and the newest version had it. The dealer should fix this.

This may help. Here is alist of all SIB's released for the X5
