I like how DSC intervenes when necessary, but never prematurely or too intrusively. In some cars, a warning buzzer will even sound (*coughToyota*cough*) and the system will take away all power away from you, even when it's just minor slip. But in BMWs, it's just right.

I was driving to the rear exit of a BMW service centre today, and water running down the slight hill had frozen over part of the roadway. As I went around the bend, I purposely put a bit of throttle to kick the tail out a bit, and the DSC brought it back together smoothly and perfectly. Makes the driver look good! ;)

My only complaint will be that the stop time is VERY long. I am not sure if more aggressive tires will improve this by much because...well, snow and ice are slippery.

You drive for the conditions not for time.

All in all it was an A+++ weekend for the wife, dogs, snowboarding, mountains, and the X.

Standard 20" y spokes summer performance tires in that condition? wow you are brave.. .. I have the 20 s as well but i opted for the BMW winter tires package. No problems on snow.
