has anyone else here been selected for sponsorship install??

I have and am waiting for delivery... I just got off the phone with them and they are in the final stages of test fitting on a similar X5 3.0si before sending me the kit..

they want to make sure all mounting brackets and holes line up...

should be a clean two piece bolt-on..(mid pipe, mufller/exhaust tip)

I'm told I should have it in the next few weeks...

i'll keep you guys posted...

i have not received the full exhaust kit yet... but i have been in contact with them almost every week... (they've been great in keeping me in the loop)

last i heard they were in the final stages of test fitting the exhaust kit on a demo 3.0si in their Germany R&D shop...

they want to make sure all bolts and brackets line up requiring no modification whatsoever..

it will come as a complete bolt-on in two large pieces... (which will include everything but the engine mounted headers)

i'm told i should have it in about two to three weeks..(they will ship to California's distribution center from there and then to me..)

the arrangement is that i post pics before and after and include a write-up of installation, fitment, quality, performance, and sound....

it'll all happen here!!!

I doubt it that it is a "bolt on" kit. You still have to cut the pipe between the resonator and the muffler. Bastuck will only replace the stock muffler (not the resonator) hence you need to cut the pipe in between.

The 4.8 kit should be simpler it is already twin pipe all the way. The 3.0 have two parts since you have the transition pipe (from the stock one pipe two two pipe) before going to the Bastuck muffler. That may explain why the 3.0 kit is more money than the 4.8 kit

they did say it was a direct bolt-on...
