Brake Dust

4 Attachment(s)
hey guys :)

i waxed my car including the rims like 2 days ago .. i heard from ppl that waxing the rims helps repel brake dust but is this normal ? i mean i used to get the same amount of brake dust all the time but not this way .. the brake dust seem darker ..

cheers

Ps : it has not been raining here .. the weather has been sign so before u say anything abt how the weather caused the appearance of this brake dust , save it :)

Sometimes I find that applying certain waxes with the rubbing motion adds a positive charge to the rim (static charge) and this will attract more dust and cause it to cling to the rim. Just a thought. However, a good rinse should remove the dust easier with wax.

Denalio , that is right , i can take off the brake dust with just a swipe of my finger and the rims still feel "waxy" ..

how often do u think i should wax the car and rims ?

Lovely

Maybe BMW should include those in their Promo pictures

What a PITA

I'll take brake dust over poor stopping power any day!

I will NEVER complain about BMW brake dust again.

Butt ugly for "two days" worth of driving...
try the Search Tab: pages of info and opins
on brake dust, how to reduce, clean, etc.

You can change your brake pads to ones that are a bit harder, and dont give off so much dust. The only trouble with them is that they can tend to squeek.

I was under the impression that you should never user ordinary car wax on your wheels because it melts/runs with the heat build up in your brakes/wheels

is there specific "wheel wax" ?
