Cigarette lighter and center console fuses
Just had same problem in my 07. Neither outlet worked. Pulled both #111 and #113. Neither blown. Reinserted both fuses and all systems go.

This is one helpful post gentlemen. The only lighter socket that works is in the console, the front and rear passenger sockets are dead. I wonder if the previous owner removed them due to two small children. Also, the third row ventilation is kaput... I know there is an option in Climate but it is unchecked. So far these are my only issues since the purchase... 2 weeks ago. I have to say that I've never had any or similar issues with my E53...

Update:
Fuse 111 was blown which is the main ashtray socket. 113 is in the center armrest console and 115 the two rear passenger sockets. Now I have to find the third row seat vent fuse :) |
New question, who sells these mini BMW fuses? The dealers ONLY?

Just got the car back, third row vent was not a fuse issue, needed parts. That got fixed plus an oil change and new vipers :)

Very helpful post !
However, I did find out what's going on with my front aux power -- it's dead. When I put a fuse in the correct spot in the rear (bottom fuse), it blows immediately. Using my ohm-meter, it seems that there is zero ohms between the positive and negative in the socket. It seems that when I had my little travel coffee maker plugged into that spot, the connection got so hot that the solder must have melted at the back of the aux power socket and shorted out the thing. The fuse did its job, preventing a fire, but now I'm faced with getting the console apart and fixing the socket. I'd used the coffee maker several times before and noted that the connection got hot, but didn't expect that it was this hot ! Now ... if anyone has any helpful hints on how to remove that part of the console, I'd appreciate them ! Dave. |
