Update on dustless brake pads...

NOTHING AVAILABLE AT THE MOMENT...

I've search around through some old contacts in the "stopping industry", and experts indicate that nothing is available for the dustless front pads. Rear pads for the 4.8 available - EBC (3.0's rear pads are different !!!!).

Front pads have shape D1294 (4.8), rear D919.

I was added to the notification list once something becomes available.... Dustfully waiting.

Hi Alexmish,

That sucks!! Sorry, but I sure hope you're wrong. While I haven't called EBC, I did check their web site again and found pads listed for the E70 4.8i - both front and rear.

However, I only see front pads for the 2007, not 2008MY. Did BMW change the E70's brakes from '07 to '08?

I talked to EBC last week and they have nothing as of yet. Additionally, EBC seems to have a lot of problems when it comes to "shuddering" with the pads.

IMO, you can't slow down a 4000lb vehicle with dinner plate size rotors without creating dust.

Dont agree.. I've seen Axxis pads on my brother's 06 E53 - no dust ! Yes, E70 is heavier than E53, but not by much... So a solution is possible, it is just no one has done it yet.

No dust...not so, many Axxis pad X5's roll around here and I've yet to see one with no dust. If he has 'no dust' at all that probably has to do with little driving, waxed wheels and pads IMO. It is more the overall size of the rotors used on BMW's...some Porsche's and other vehicles.

If you have a new BMW, the replacement of pads are free, why not take the money you would spend on pads and just wash the wheels/car on a regular basis?

hopefully you won't have to wait too long, but it took about a year for Axxis pads for my e92. the fronts are still only available, still waiting on the rears and the cars been out for almost 2 years now.

I had high performance low dust pads on my 6000 lb Denali with a big brake kit with 24" wheels and I did have minimal dust, so yes it is possible.

But you still had dust, my point is there is no such thing as a dustless pad. How big were your rotors?
