Last time i was in Italy, i saw lots of diesels and you're correct. Let's hope the US models are the same......

Maybe an X5 Diesel will not pay for itself quick enough, but a 3 or 5 Series Diesel, or a C or E Class diesel will pay for itself quite quickly.

E320 Bluetec Diesel 400 lb-ft torque 23/32 mpg

E350 Gasoline model 258 lb-ft torque 17/24 mpg
