Thanks. So is it under the "tool kit" holder? Or more towards left side of the car - next to the toolking tray?

Yeah, the toolkit holder and the storage bin to the right of it come off together if I recall correctly. Look out for the screw at the bottom of the storage bin.

Happened to me yesterday, got the message, luckily the engine cranked. I usually don't lock the truck when it is parked in the garage, and I do hear the Nav DVD spinning up occasionally and the USB drive light up without the keys in the ignition (I don't have comfort access). Any suggestions? Thanks

Hello everybody !
I'm French, and i have the same problem "High battery drain" on my X5 E70 3,0D since two months.

After many tests, i think if you deactivate the interior lights (press 5 seconds the button over your head in the car), this message doesn't appear anymore... maybe.

I try this, and its works for me (after 2-3 days without using the X5, no message, no reset OBC, battery OK), but i'm not sure if it will always OK. :dunno:

If someone can tell me if it's ok?

:( Sorry for my poor english. I hope you understand what i say..... :(

I am pretty sure this is not the case. It happens randomly, without ANY link to a certain action.

I get it occassionally I leave my ipod plugged in thought it was that...not that concerned and ignore it...

I also a low batter drain warning coming up after just about one hour of radio use while detailing my X5's interior....
This is alarming... because one hour radio should not drain out the battery since the X5 was only in radio readiness mode...
Sure would like to get to the bottom of this

I think the message is high rate of discharge... I guess it depends how much you have on your ride... e.g like comfort access, 4 zone climate , heated seats ..etc... I have changed most of my interior lights to Leds as well...

regards

We have been suffering the high battery discharge and last time car was in the dealers they changed the battery for a high powered one all was ok for 2weeks, then it came back, the car had been locked for over 12 hours and the message still popped up.

Also, don't leave you NAV disc in, you will notice it is spinning (running) all the time!
