OMG, this is an old thread... revived... people might have compelling reasons for the chime to be off... I always use my seat belts, i feel naked without one... nevertheless, i have disabled the chime in my E53, as it is annoying, when i am having the ignition or engine on, and working on the hot wires in the trunk or under the carpet, and the chime is going on and on and on... i also disabled the key left in ignition chime, for the same reasons...

on the other hand, the OP, back in 2008, could have stated his reasons more clearly in the original post to avoid being lectured... lol...
