I checked it more closely today. There is an air flow coming into the cup holders underneath the cup holder cover (from the shift side) Also, there is again an air flow to the center armrest compartment coming from the small part sticking out which is used to hold the phone adaptor. So, this cannot be only due to the rear seat ducting.

There might be a ducting leakage possibility. If only me and a few other X5ers have this issue, I would understand. If all X5s have this though, then it's not a leakage but a non-advertised "feature".

Cooled center compartment + glove box + cup holder would be awesome! But mine doesn't seem to do this. :(

Eveything is warm. I tried various setting of the AC on, but still nothing. How are you guys getting this to cool?

BTW, mine is a 2008 4.8 if that makes any difference.

Try turning on the rear center outlets. It might help.
