I copied the info below from a Roadfly post but it is exactly the route I chose (i have 3rd row seats that are down 99% of the time). The all weather cargo mat works great and fits perfect (it might seem just a tad tight if the second row seats are pushed all the way back). Note that the last few digits of the part number will change depending upon color! It is $58 from Circle BMW (they give nice internet discounts....ask for Chris in parts). Also...the beige color is not an exact match but you will will not even notice two days later....

I use the larger all weather cargo mat for x5s without the 3rd row. part number 82 11 0 417 985. the smaller one designed for use with the 3rd row seats up is useless since it only covers the under deck storage panel. and most likely if i were to carry anything messy in the back it would be with the seats down. The material is flexible enough that if i need to open the 3rd row, i either roll it up an stow it in whatever is left of the back. most of the time i dont roll it. i just bend it gently into a "U" shape and let it line up against the back seat and lower tailgate.

I highly recommend it to keep the area back there clean. I have the floor mats as well and they also have the lip and are of the same material. All of them have a BMW logo on them.

thanks for the info. just ordered mine. it's true. the lip on it helps. I had the other one on the 2002 x5 and the lip was not as high and liquids can spill over.

Thanks for the info. I needed one for all the groceries that sometimes tend to leak liquids. how much circle charge for shipping?

I just purchased one for $56 shipped on ebay from a BMW dealer in Maine. It doesn't look like they have any left (at least not right now)... it is advertised as the BMW factory luggage cargo mat and they have a full refund with shipping policy if it's not to my liking so I went for it.

Circle BMW is always very reasonable for shipping and ship very fast! I think i might have paid $10 shipping....They are one of the two or three most often mentioned dealers used for internet OEM part purchases.

Man! that's a great deal. Too bad I already ordered from Morristown. They charged me $20. I ordered the seatbelt holder too. At least he didn't add more shipping for that. I could've drove to Circle hahaha.

So I got this on Tuesday but it is for the E53 as it is too wide - it doesn't indicate this in the auction, but I called them and the rep was extremely nice and is willing to give me the pricier E70 fitted luggage mat swapped straight-up for my troubles. Thumbs up to Bill Dodge BMW in Maine.

^ is that OEM? Never came across that even with 3rd parties.

As long as it fits though right? It'd be great to finally be able to toss crap back there without caring.

Just checked my cargo tray and it has part # 51470444754 stamped on it.
I guess the picture in the BMW catalog does not represent the actual design.
