This year things might be different. For example, the 5 and 6 2010 MY begin production in March. This might be a special case though. They will be getting the new i-Drive !! Will the X5 and X6 be the last cars to get them?

Just wondering on the source of this info. Is that speculation or do you know for a fact? :confused:

As far as I know now, 2009 X5 continues in March. No new i-Drive announcement as of yet. Its possible it will get the new controller though.

Wow, thanks for that news. Now for the test... I will call my local dealer and see if they know/admit any changes to the 5 series with regards to the new I-drive and when these vehicles will get that update. Also whether the Mar/09 prod will see this change or the 2010 prod, and when that will be.

If they confirm this news, then they truly don't know about the X5. If they claim not to know anything about the 5 series, then I guess they're not releasing any info on the X5 either despite knowing about it. :confused:

Well, not good news! :( The dealer confirmed Mar/09 prod 5 & 6 series will get the new I-drive as per news release above. However still no news on the E70! It's looking more like the MY 2010 will get this update which won't be till Sept/09.

They said it's due to the fact that the E60 and E70 have different production dates. MY 2010 production on the E60 is Mar/09 while 2010 prod on the E70 is Sept/09.

5 & 6 series already had the new iDrive controller in 2009 models, they are just getting the hard drive and the works now.
