Quick question

I understand the E70 as model year 2007 in USA
but was it actually released in 2006? If so, what year?

Only asking because I want to be sure when I go i want to be informed thanks

The current platform (E70) was produced as early as FEB 2006. It officially replaced the E53 in November 2006. As far as model years are concerned, you will not find a "2006" E70. All E70s are going to have a model year of 2007 and up.

If you want to study up, I suggest going to your dealership and request a brochure. There also a number of sites that actively review numerous vehicles from different manufacturers. (www.edmunds.com, www.motortrend.com, to name a few).

It's a straight-6 engine too

edit: Its called I6

Historically, the "s" has stood for "Sport".

i = (fuel) injected
d = diesel
l = long (wheel base)
x = all-wheel drive (typically used as a suffix for sedan models)
s = sport

i thought 'L' means luxury hehe

You know, for about the same price, we could've all gotten an M3. I don't know why speed is seemingly the only priority to you and you assume the same for the rest of us? Why even get an SUV [that's slower than most other BMWs], then go poking at the 3.0si model for being slow? :dunno:

why i'zz gonna push it into a ditch, what else.

my Z06 is a 2004. my track car a 328is. what exactly do you propose as your reason for purchasing an X5? since you asked, i bought one as i needed the section ~179 tax break and didn't want another Tahoe / Suburban. for a work truck it rides nice. oh yeah, and it hauls ass. i bought the wife a CPO E53 as she had grown tired of her 330i and really liked my truck.

i realize you and i may have gotten off on the wrong foot RH, what with the whiner camera thing and all. but seriously i am just busting your balls mostly. you being a Yankee and all, i just can't resist some days. and of course being almost 20 years older than you are i take some perverted pleasure from all this.

but if i have offended you i sincerly apologize. lighten up RH it is all in fun.

and as for the go fast thing, try it some time. you might just enjoy it. :stickpoke
