There are lots of products out there to stop or diminish brake squeal. Sometimes they work, sometimes not. Some mechanics do not like to apply them as they prefer the brake pads "clean" on the backside to be more free to move around a little bit, and also worry that with brand new pads the small thickness added might press the pads against the rotors.

I think the wide variety of products sold to address this issue shows it is rather pervasive and common (and I haven't even shown spray to condition rotors, or adhesive metal shims for the back of the pads).

I went to the dealer yesterday. We drove around for like 30 minutes and too bad we couldn't replicate the squeak. They checked the break front and rear and didn't find anything. They told me I could just drop by whenever I have the squeak back. I will see when it rains/snows next time.

I also get the squeak from time to time and I too have a 08 with low miles so far, and I always though it was because the brakes were controlled untimately by the computer ( ex. they get closer when rain sensor detects moisture) so I though the sounds was from the too even of a wear on the brakes creating a very flat even surface causing the metal materials to hum vibrate from the even friction... but that is just a guess
