Ya .. probably looks ok with black but other colours, I can see you point .... oh well. I had the pedals on my M3, but wont bother on the X5.

I notice you have a R8 in your list of cars. If you still have the car, you should take some snaps of that and post ... I've only ever seen one of those in downtown seattle. Looked amazing.

I've got a feeling it has to do with the fact I'm only connecting to the brake light circuit and not the left/right indicators. Hang fire ... I hope to have a solution shortly. Oh yea, BMW Seattle can easily do the exhausts. Just speak with Elle in service, she'll sort you out.

All working now ... check out the PDC post for more details.

Pics as requested. Dont see getting rid of the R8 for some time as I have not found its equal yet as a street/track car right out of the box without any mods.

These pics were taken right after delivery about a yr ago. Love the black, but what a task keeping it up.

Makes me regret not getting my X5 in black... Love the R8, almost got one of those instead of my GT. Fantastic cars!

R8 looks awesome !!! Thanks for posting the pics.

Congrats on the ride.

Couple of questions..
Is the trailer hitch from BMW?
Who's the MFG of the Bicycle carrier????

pedah3 04-15-2009 07:53 PM

Looks like the same setup I have. Thule rack on the OEM hitch. Thule used to make a hitch mounted bike carrier that BMW put their badge on. They discontinued that one as it had a pinch risk and a few folks lost fingers.

Quicksilver 04-15-2009 07:56 PM

So the 2009's have a different hitch than earlier models ie the 2000-2006?

apw2607 04-15-2009 07:59 PM

Not sure on earlier models, but the hitch is the OEM one from BMW. The bike rack is from Thule as mentioned above. Great for heavy downhill bikes :-)

Lots of folks round here have not been able to
get them because the factory where they were
made went ka-poot. So I was wondering if it was
the same design/part # ect.

Guess I better search around in the hitch
threads and see.

Thanks
