Anyone has instructions/pdf for removing the bumpers?

Hi

I need instructions to take out the front and rear bumper, get them painted and install again.

If anyone has done this before, please share the instructions....

Thanks,
Shashank

I will try to get the .pdf files for you...

So are you going to paint the wheel arches and side mouldings too?? What color is your X ??

Thanks!

I have a jet blk too! Personally I don't like everything painted all black, unless of course you have the M sport pkg. I thought about it, but will probably end up going with the aero kit. Anyhow be sure to post pics of how yours turns out...

So YOU are removing the bumpers and the body shop is doing the painting?? Why not save yourself the trouble and let them do everything? Can't be that much more  Anyhow here you go. Hope this helps...

Awesome! Thanks a lot for the files!
Well, even I don't like everything black, I am just getting the plastic pieces painted (with aero kit), nothing else...I'll post the pics in few days.
After reading the files, I guess its pretty easy to remove the bumpers and I'll let the body shop handle that portion...I don't want to smear my hands ;)

Okay now I'm confused! Are you getting your bumpers painted, the aero kit painted or both?? Because if you're just painting & installing the aero kit, you shouldn't have to remove your bumpers!

I tried that already. First CD they sent me didn't work! A month later, they sent me a second CD which didn't have anything on the new X5 or X6. And of course they're all scams with copied CD's. You may get lucky, but I haven't found one that works yet...

I had a similar problem but the one I've got now is no problems at all ..no more transbase errors etc....it had a coloured label rather than black and white.. looking on ebay looks like the manuals have dried up and there are few sellers selling them now.. mine has been priceless...can't recall the seller I got my latest from....

You beat me to it, I was just about to ask what seller you got it from as I did the ebay search as well and there are a lot of shonky ones being sold. Let us know if you remember later.

jamesboags 08-11-2009 08:16 AM

The seller was bimmer.manual... looks like he doesn't have any for sale now though....

Any instructions on how to remove the headlights and fender would be great. I think you have to remove the fender when removing the headlights.

These are great. Thanks for sharing.
