I have had this problem on the M3, C32, LR2 and X5. It's normal.

It is such a PITA to remove, I don't worry about it. When I do I just use Bar Keepers Friend. You can buy it in WalMart.

Should'a bought a diesel ! No black stuff on the tailpipes.

When I got my car, they didn't make X5 diesels then...:(
