BMW Technology Guide : Sport mode

Interesting, though the "models that use this technology" point to a 2006 X5 in the URL, the E53. That's before adaptive drive with the sport button in question too. All the content is for E70 though - strange. Anyway, it also mentions it may be for specific engine types within that model. At any rate, as much as I wish I could feel all those differences they mention (more immediate steering, shorter gearshift times, etc.), I don't. I turned the button off today because my kids were sleeping in the back, the only difference was the harshness of the bumps. Revs/acceleration were the same. Anyone with a 4.8 actually feel the difference in shift points & steering?

For E70, thats all it does... stiffen the ride. The "sportier" shifting comes when you move the gear selector into DS mode.

I'd have to agree... DS for sport transmission shifting and SPORT for Adaptive suspension..
