Black plastic trim fading already?

Has anyone else had this problem? I noticed that my X5's black plastic molding around the bumper etc. is already getting old and faded looking in direct sunlight. I took delivery 12/07, but this seems pretty early.

Yeah, my back bumper on my 09 looks the same way. I don't know what to treat it
with. It should have come painted the color of the car in my opinion. It would also
look a lot better as well.

Try an exterior plastic trim polish...something like this: Meguiar's Direct Exterior Trim Coating
This would help a lot IMO. The other option is to get everything painted, but that could cost a lot.

How long does Black WOW usually last before needing another application? I'm currently using Mother's back to black and each application usually only lasts 2 to 3 car washes.

plain and simple.... Armorall! use it on the E53 and it holds perfectly....until you wash the car again. went from 5 years of fading to brand new.

Armorall products are very low end, they're silicone based and eventually will result in drying out whatever you use them on and cause cracks.

I would suggest you switch to a more quality product like Mequiars or Mothers.
