The reason i'm questioning him is because he is telling me that lease payment should be $795 and that my calculations are incorrect. Well anyway, I'll talk to finance manager over the phone tomorrow, and see what he says.

well, you didn't add in delivery which is probably $800is, tire fee, doc fees, and bullship dealer fees, not including tax, title and registration. Maybe his # was tax in.

The MF is different for each model. For the 2010 X5d, the buy rate (base rate) is .00255 (until the program changes on November 2nd). Dealers can mark this up by .0004, which means anything above the buy rate is 100% profit for them. This is another item you should negotiate. There is also an acquisition fee of $725 for every lease. The dealers are allowed to mark this up by $200 (more profit). This is yet another item to negotiate.

(When I got my 335xi lease last November, I agreed on $825 acq fee and .0001 on top of buy rate.)

This is interesting. So since dealer told me that MF i should be calculating is .00280 he's marking up .00025? That's $23.42 a month more? Can he mark up that much?

No i told him that all the fees and taxes I'll pay upfront. The number he gave me is pure lease.

He can mark it up a maximum of .0004 from base rate (.00255) which can be .00295.

If you total the car after the first year, or even after the first month, you will be out on those taxes. I wouldn't pay 3 years of taxes up front if I didn't have to.
